Audible response about regional restrictions

All, see below for a copy pasta from a live chat I just had with Audible.
I tried what Ray had done on the last thread about this to no good end.

I've since emailed the content request email address that the rep gave me
and I'll update when I hear back. I'd encourage anyone else who is locked
to do the same.

Me: i have a question about downloading 4 audiobooks by Raymond E. Feist.
'Shadow of a Dark Queen' 'Rise of a Merchant Prince' 'Rage of a Demon King'
and 'Shards of a Broken Crown.' They won't come up as available to download
for me. I have spoken to Audible customer support and was told there was no
region lock on these titles and yet I am still unable to download them.

You are now connected to Sahil from Audible.com.

Sahil: Thank you for contacting Audible. My name is Sahil. I can certainly
look into this for you.

Me: Thanks! I'd just like to know if there is a region lock on those titles
preventing me from downloading them.

Sahil: Just to confirm, are you getting any error while purchasing these
books?

Me: no, the books do not come up at all when I search for them. But I know
people in other parts of the US and other parts of the world that have
downloaded them.

Sahil: Please sign out from the audible account and then try to search
while we are on chat.

Me: all 4 books are on there when i sign out of the account.

Sahil: I would like to inform that if you are browsing the Audible Web site
but are not signed in, you will see all of the audiobooks we provide. Once
you sign in, however, the listing may change. This is because once you are
signed in, the Web site can determine your geographical location and will
list the audiobooks accordingly.

Your geographic location is based on the billing address of the default
credit card and country the issuing bank of the payment information is in.

When publishers decide to publish a work, they acquire the rights to
distribute that particular audiobook in certain regions of the world.
Audible must abide by these restrictions, though it may occasionally
inconvenience the customer.

If you would like to request for this title to be made available in your
current region, please email us at: content-***@audible.com.

Me: Right, I understand about regional restrictions. But according to the
last phone call I had with audible customer support there are no
restrictions on these titles. It's a technical error.

Can you check and see on your end if there are any restrictions on these
books?

Sahil: Yes, there is Geographical restrictions on the mentioned titles.

In this case, please email us at: content-***@audible.com.

Our Content Team will then investigate whether we can make that audiobook
available in your current region.

I posted this info on Facebook, but not here I think. The problem has been “resolved,” but apparently Amazon/Audible is taking their own sweet time in implementing it. So, bugging them was probably a good thing. We’ve done all we can at our end, as my agent was on this for months, and apparently Harper US and Harper UK worked out the kink in the rights issues, so now it’s just up to Audible to change the restrictions programming. I’ll forward a copy of this to my agent and he can maybe pass this along to Harper as he sees fit.

Best, R.E.F.

Thanks for the info Ray, after I had that chat I thought about looking into King of Foxes as well.  It's also still region locked.
